If they're available, the rubber bits are best sourced from YAMAHA. My experience with Mike's XS rubber bits has been that they don't last. I got one season out of foot peg covers. You don't want to lose a sidecover.

Those are a dead number at Yamaha, so aftermarket is the only choice. Those grommets won't see much wear, so you should be OK....

I think he needs to run the vin first before deciding what to buy, he thinks its a special, but describes a standard seat setup, also different carbs?? I hope they're from another xs1100 or hes going to have trouble with the old vacuum advance, and won't be running as good as he expects. Hate to see him buy good but the wrong parts off of the bay. Give us your vin on here, and let us decipher it for you so you buy the right parts. Plus, and i mean a big plus is, if you can post pics of it here, a lot of knowledgeable people ready to help.

the vin on it is 2H7-029540 I've ordered a few parts, getting them for a 1979 standard model and everything fit. The carbs on it look similar to what a KZ1000 has but just going off pictures on ebay they're not. But either way i have them cleaned up with new needle and seats, they didn't really look like they needed a full kit. And the brackets that bolt the 4 together has been redrilled for the right spacing.
