Any one have the length of the bolt that connects the two front brake lines to the Y, on a 79 SF. This is the longer one with two holes.

Sitting here being armchair lazy I would suggest you measure a short one and add to it the width of another hose banjo and 1 seal ring. Or wait . Sooner or later someone will pipe up.

Got unlazy went to boxoparts , grabbed a dig caliper and here goes.

29.79mm or 1.173 in shank length . Dang dig caliper, every time I measure it the last digit on these figures change a little up and down .should be close enough.

                  Got it

Thanx guys but I got one. The book showed three available lengths in 10 mm. I've converted the LH braking system to that of a 79 special so thats why I asked for the measurement.

Glad you found it. I'm keeping that option open on my XJ but for now I'm kinda liking the linked system since its working well. Not trying to start another "VS" discussion. If anyone wants to they should find the older threads and add to those.

                      proportioning valve

There was a serrated washer and some brass inside mine that didn't look too healthy. I couldn't find replacements and didn't want to chance a failure. I really don't like the concept either. Thats why I swapped.
