aside from left and right, are all the specials the same, how about specials and standards, 79-81 ? I guess some of the 650's and 750's swap also, is there an interchangability of parts anywhere here?

The XS1100 Special does not share petcocks with the XS1100 standard. The XS1100 standard shares petcocks with the later model XS650. New petcocks are available for the XS650, but only the left side. The left petcock will function on left or right side of the XS1100 standard, but the levers will operate in the opposite direction of one another.
The Special shares petcocks only with the XJ1100J, and Midnight Specials.Marty (in Mississippi)
