      Hi John,
what JW said. OK, IF your carbs were perfectly synched before you took them off for cleaning and IF you managed to not move the between carbs adjusting screws and IF you carefully returned the slow running needles to their former positions IN THEORY you wouldn't need to resynch after cleaning.
Otherwise, resynch after cleaning and perhaps resynch again at every oil change.

        Removing

As far as removing the carbs goes, if you have the OEM air box it is a bit of a challange. The manual download will cover most steps, follow them in order. A tip that I have found that helps is unhook the throttle cable when the carbs are half way out, much easer to get to then, same with install, hook it up when half way in, good luck, and be sure and remove the emulsion tubes, dont just spray cleaner in there, also dont soak the bodies in carb clearner, it will damage the throttle seals

Twist throttle grip WO........lift cable out of retainer on valve cover while releasing throttle......painless. Lift up on cable and housing manually to rotate throttle shaft..........lightly wedge a screwdriver behind shaft assembly or hold open by hand flipping cable end out of retainer............reverse for install.............totally painless.....

            Yea

Yea, those 4 or 5 steps sound easer then slide out carbs, unhook throttle cable where you can just grab it with your fingers

pay real close attention to how you pull them out because getting them back in can be really frustrating
