  • A question for any FJ owners

I have been planning an upgrade to my FI system with newer throttle bodies. The OD on the new set is a bit larger and it got me to thinking about the intake boots. From what I can see in ebay pics, the FJ boots look nearly identical but are of course made to take the larger bore BS36's. I was hoping an FJ owner or someone who just knows could tell me if the mounting hole spacing was the same (or very close) and if there were any other differences.

The angle of the ports on the XS head is, well, at an angle and the FJ ports are straight, so even if you can fit the rubber boots from an FJ to the XS head they will then be at an angle and the XS or whatever carbs you care to mention won't fit on.
I'll go and take some pictures and post up in a bit so you can see what i mean.

The top head is off an FJ, well this one is an XJR, both the same, bottom head is the XS. See how the inlet ports are angled on the XS and flat or straight on the FJ.
Then the two carb rubbers, top XS and bottom FJ, see the two mounting points don't even line up.

oooohhhhh. I see. I saw the offset that the FJ ones had and didn't notice they were lacking the angle. Thank for the pics. Looks like that option is out.
