  • showem if you gotem

I'm a newby and have had my xs11 for about 6 years. My dad bought the bike new in 79 and I finally talked it out of him. I don't see to many of them fixed up or as radical as mine ever so I'll show you mine if you show me yours.

Turbox79, is that bike an original turbo xs11 or was the turbo added to a standard xs11? I heard somewhere that yamaha built a few turboed xs11's. Have any engine parts been beefed up? What top gear revs is the motor doing at say 80mph? I'm picking a 9 second pass with a shaft-drive and skinny back tyre would be a mission without blowing the motor to peices. What do you reckon? Someone told me turboed hayabusas never beat standard hayabusas in 1/4 mile drags because of wheelspin. You reckon that's true? What's that yellow bike you're racing against? For a bit of interest check out this http://www.dragbikenz.com/reflex_tester.htm

It was not a original turbo it has an american turbo pac system from the 80's and my dad has been building drag bikes for years so it has so much motor work I could not list it all. tire problems are the biggest problem if I run 8-9 lbs of boost it doesnt seem to spin the tires to much but not that fast probley mid 10's at 120-130mph but consestant. I like it at 12-15 lbs of boost, it will run low 10's and it will ether spin or bog but top end is 140mph the fastes time I had was 10.20 @ 146mph so hopefully this year Ill run mid 9's at 146mph. I found a good tire, the avon super venom it seems to not spin to much if I turn my 2 step down around 7000 rpm, the tire just does not last long. The motor that is in it now I think is 1240cc im building a bigger one for a spare just in case.I am also leavin with a clutch and shifting with my foot and with my suzuki I gained about 1 sec. with an air shifter, last year I ran an air clutch and delay box and I did better without it. my xs is more of a street toy than anything I built it to woop on all my friends with there rockets.my suzuki is the bike I race, it is an 83 gs1100 that is stretched and raked with a 1500cc motor and 10 inch slick, Ill have to take a picture of it soon. I just bought it from my dad a couple of years ago because he built a dragster and quit racing it.

              sorry it is so long
