  • 1980 xs1100 gt-r ?

Anybody ever hear of this model?
There's a very nice looking dresser on EBAY right now, that the seller describes as a XS1100 GT-R. I never heard of this designation.
Also, his bike has solid brake rotors. I questioned this & he says it came from the factory new with solid rotors. It's a 1980 (?)
You can check it out on EBAY @ item # 220884317611

There's also a good deal on a 78E. Both are newly listed. Both are in Florida.

    Touring

I think its an XS1100G TouRing and he is confused.

Dunno maybe the dealer designated it that way after installing the 750 FD. Seems fishy to me.

The other 78 is on our forsale forum by rlundy one of our members....

The Standard models all had solid rotors until '81 when they switched to slotted. The bike is an 80G with a touring package....

          exhaust

          maybe no centerstand?

or maybe aftermarket mufflers with no crossover?

            Thanks Phil

The 80 standard that I had had the slotted rotors. must've been changed out.

Took another look & I see it does have the centerstand.Sure looks like special exhausts.

It did, but this bike isn't a '81; it very definitely is a 80 standard (rear footpeg/muffler mounts are the giveaway) so by rights that exhaust shouldn't fit...

if you look closely you can see the fottrest brackets touch the mufflers at the rear, the gap gets narrower at the end. Also the bolt to hold the exhaust to the footrest brackers is not in the middle, it has been forced in its place..

Hi Steve, the ad sez it's wearing a set of MAC 2 into 1s and the stock system comes with it too.
