I am in the process of adding fuel filters and have to rerouting fuel lines. Is it safe to have the fuel lines contacting/resting on top of the carbs. I can't imagine that they would get too warm/hot just never paid attention.

Perfectly safe. No problem with that at all. Mine don't run that way but I run mine cross so that the right pair are fed by the left petcock and the left pair are fed by the right petcock. This leaves plenty of slack for turning the tank around for tuning and such.Cy
