  • Neutral Safety Switch

My bike was leaking a whole lot from the neutral safety switch. I changed the copper gasket with the correct one from my local dealer. It is still leaking,. Although it does seem to be leaking less. Can the switch itself leak, do I need to tighten the switch more or ?

The switch itself can leak, so if it's still leaking after replacing the gasket chances are good you need a new switch....

Assuming you mean the neutral LIGHT switch, yes it can leak through the switch.

Thanks guys! One step forward one step back

Also, I don't know what I was thinking I did mean the neutral LIGHT switch. I have not ridden her in quite a long time, but if I recall correctly these bikes don't have a neutral safety switch. But then again it has been too long to trust my memory on that.

I believe the XJ has a neutral safety switch, but not an SF.

            Just a random statement.
