    starters

the starter went out last night on my 80 sg, i took it off the bike and tried to engage it with the battery and nothin. (well except when i hammered on it and it started to turn lol) is there a difference between specials and standard when it comes to starters or would this on work??

For that price you can get a re-build kit and go through yours, Clean up the commutator, install new brushes and clean / lube the planetary gears. at least you'll know what you've got.

Rather than buy someones' old used junk ?working? starter?

I've used this kit from this guy, good stuff.
