I keep hearing. People say they are all failing but I only know of 1 person who actually had them fail. I also remember the supposed cause was popping the wire off the plug and letting it hit the motor to test it. I would like to hear feedback from actual people who had a failure not just oh I heard someone's fail. And for those failures how many of you tested them by arcing them to the motor.
I have had mine for 3 years I think. And they are fine.
I don't think they should be poopooed for going bad if the cause is operator error.especially since they are only 34 bucks a piece.
Also I'd like to hear how many people have them with no problems.

My post split for some reason. I have had the black coils for about 3 years so about 20 somethind thousand miles on them.

      Hey Chris,

Many of us posted in the Who wants to know about Mikes Green coils thread, but I'll post here as well. The consensus is that they have about a 10K miles lifespan, so depending on how much you ride, that could be less than 1 year, or several years. Also, AFAIK, those that installed them did NOT pull the wire to test them, just installed them and they worked right out of the box, so no TESTING was required. I ran mine for 4 years, but I only put about 2500 miles a year, so it took 4 years before they failed, but they did it after an 800-1000 mile trip/weekend to XS East this spring, luckily the last mile from home, so didn't have to limp it as far on 2 cylinders like Phil did. As soon as I got home kept it running, put an inductive timing light on the wires, and found very little signal on the 1-4 coil pair, strong on the 2-3 pair.

I pulled the coils, ordered and installed the DYNA's, worked great right out of the box hitting on all 4. I tested the Ohms on the Mikes, but only after they were cold, seemed to still be in spec...so I suspect an internal heat related failure scenario. But with the reports of the several members with them failing, and then mine eventual failing, I feel I have enough FACTUAL Proof, evidence, not just Anecdotal to make my conclusion that they are not very reliable or durable.

You are so far LUCKY, fortunate, whatever you want to call it to get 20K miles out of them, hope they keep working, but won't rub it when WHEN you finally post that they have failed on you, hopefully not leaving you stranded hundreds of miles from home!
