I WANT ONE !!!! It is possible - I don't want to hear the negatives, just what kind of carb to run.

Single Carb Set Up

It's something that a discussion has been going on about. Nobody that we know about has done so with any degree of success. The one I have seen ran horribly. The problem is (and not talking negatives here) is there isn't enough room for a plenum to put the carb where you would need it to work properly.Cy

I'm working with some others, in a slow mode to figure out if we can do a single carb mod, but I'm not going to spend any time on figuring out the how to on doing a dual carb setup. A single carb setup would actually be easier from a setup standpoint if you can come up with an intake that works, the duals would to actually work right I think really need to pair 1 and 4 and 2 and 3 together and pairing 1 and 2 together and 3 and 4 together would give asymmetrical intake pulses which are not as good for carb operation.Cy

I think I would rather do Fuel Injection over anything that you are wanting. I know I have seen some kits for FI Modifications, but even that takes away from the pretty much stock bike that I have now.
The carbs can be a pain to work with, but when you have them set.. Watch out~Manny~

Yep, if you get these carbs running well, they run really well. Even with the 750FD, this thing is still capable of pulling that front wheel off the ground in 1st gear if I get too heavy with that right hand. It just won't do it in 2nd gear anymore. Maybe I can't beat the latest crotch rockets, but then I'm not that kind of rider anyways.Cy

That microsquirt FI conversion thingy just seems to be such a pain though! And the single carbs, I wouldnt mind tuning it myself, I do my own work, I dont pay someone else to do anything but change the tires. Im just going through all my options, I want to have my mind set on the best things to do so that when it comes next season im ready.~Jay

My old H2 triples had single throttle cables that branched into three which had their own individual adjusters on each segment. They weren't too hard to keep in tune. Mightn't be too difficult to make a 4 banger version.
It'd be impossible to keep carbs in synch for long using 4 totally individual cables.
About the only other way to go for ease of tuning, individual runners so intake pulses aren't fighting each other and maybe get more power (probably about 20mpg, though) would be to open up the intake & exhaust ports, bigger valves, large diameter exhaust system and a custom set of intake runners, and slap a pair of these on it!
