    Trike Kit

I know this could be considered blasphemy on this site, but I was "just curious" if anyone knows a compatible trike conversion kit for the '80 xs1100 G? The only reason I'm asking, my wife really wants a trike and that may be my only option.

    Hi monhollenj,
I guess a last year's Goldwing with a Lehman trike conversion is way beyond your budget, eh?
As I understand it, the cost of a Lehman conversion alone will make your eyes go big and round.
Or there's the MTC Voyager which is essentially a set of giant training wheels plus a trunk and a bare bones in primer one of those sells for $4,025!
If your wife wants to passenger in a trike you could sell her on a sidecar instead? A nice used chair can be got for ~$2,000. Or if she wants to ride, perhaps a Piaggio 3-wheeled scooter, used for about the same price?

        Hi monhollenj,
look in Craig's list, Kijiji & local paper want ads.
Try running your own "wanted, used sidecar" ads in those places.
Once found, the hard part is hanging the thing on your bike.
Use the search function to find my "Why I ride a sidecar rig" string.

I found a bike with side car on ebay yesterday. I think it has 2 days left on the auction. You might be able to get them to sell you the side car separately.

                Hi Jay,
no, hardtailing is always a blasphemy. Triking is only a blasphemy if the bike can't be restored to stock at need.
                Sidecaring is a mere perversion.

                    Hi latexeses,
nice Velorex on one side and a salvageable XS11SG on t'other but gawd! What a total abortion of a hookup between the two.
Perhaps the seller could be tempted to sell just the sidecar because as is, the rig is totally unrideable.
