    1981 xs1100 won't start in the rain.

Hello all, my bike has a problem where it will not start in the rain, but will a few hours later once it drys. I have heard that it is a simple case of some of the wires getting wet and that if you keep them covered and grounded it should fix the problem, I was wondering if that is true. I am not the most mechanically adept, but this bike has gotten me to gain some skill in it. I have the repair guide , and enough tools to take her apart, but am also stuck doing it when the weather permits me to.
