    Emergency Stop Switch

My question is about the switch that kills the bike if you drop it or lay it down. Mine seems to be missing. I think it has always been gone since I got the bike, maybe not though. From the looks of it I don't need according to the diagram. Looks like a normally open circuit. Am I right? Also what is the little component attached to the frame right above cyl #2, right next to where the horn mounts? Some sort of sensor or something. I tried to find it on a wiring diagram but I can't figure it out.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Unidentified component

If it about 2" long by about 3/4" across and is silver/tin in colour it is the ballast resistor.
