I'm wondering about repairs close to the coil too. My repair is 3/4" from the coil and wiggling doesn't look good but the Digital Volt Meter doesn't vary. Still getting drop out from somewhere tho.......

I have green 3 ohm Dynas on my XS1100 and just bought some for my Honda GL1000. The XS has had them for over a year and about 6,000 miles... no problems. I fitted the ones on the GL yesterday (with Dyna S ignition)... again 3 ohm. In both cases you can remove the ballast resistor and that's one less thing to go wrong. Massive fat sparks. You can't beat them.XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. XS750 final drive (sometimes). Micron fork brace. Progressive front springs. Geezer regulator/rectifier. Stainless 4 into 2 exhaust. Auto CCT (Venturer 1300) SOLD. New project now on the go. 1980 European model.
