    Huge THAKS, and a video for the forum from the Philippines!!!

    Howdy all!!!! Well, after a solid month of trying to identify the miss I had, you guys finally directed me to the intake valves, and that was it. Ordered the shims from the US, (that took over a month to get!!), shimmed the valves, and finally the miss was gone!!! But then, I took it on a 100 mile ride, and got 26 mpg on the hiway! Used to get 33/34. I posted a question here a couple of weeks ago asking about the mileage problem, and was told to synch the carbs. It took me two weeks to get it done, things arent so readily available here in the Philippines, but got it done, and took the bike on the same 100 mile ride, and got 37mpg!!!! Thats the best Ive ever had in the 4 yrs Ive owned the bike!!! Thanx to this forum, its not a smouldering pile of scrap!! I was oh soooo close to just torching it, but listened to you guys, and tried to have patience, and damn, did it pay off!!! Its running like a sewing machine now, and is just such a joy to ride now!!!! You guys put in alot of time and effort in answering my questions, and brainstorming for me, and I appreciate it more than you know!!!       Excellent work Randy!! All we did was to give ideas, you had to put them into action and solve the problems. I am certain I have no clue what it is like ot try to get the parts in some of the more isolated areas of the world, it can be hard enough here in the continental 48.

      She sound sbig bad and mean, and looks like she is ready to pull your arms out there sockets, like any good XS11 should. Again, congrats on your hard work that has paid off well.

          That's a great ending. The bike sounds like it's running perfectly now. It just shows that persistence can pay off....

            There is only one thing left to do at this point. Ride that XS regularly!!!

              Awesome vid! Great bike. I visited the Philippines in 2000 and I loved it!!!! The Jeepneys and all the motorcycles buzzing around was a blast.

                    Really enjoyed your vid!! My wife is philippine, from Tarlac City, north of Manila. I've been there five times now. Enjoyed seeing the jeepneys, palm trees, and tricycles. Her brothers have a jeepney, bro in law has a tricycle, and a chinese motorcycle. POS!! There is a coconut tree in her yard, and I have climbed it many times to get the coconuts down. Tarlac looks primitive compared to what I saw in your vid. The roads are horrendous, more animals than vehicles. I almost hit one of those big blue water buffaloes last time I was there riding the chinese cycle. Enjoy your XS, probably the fastest bike there.

                      Damn that's fun ain't it?

                      Sounds great. I know you've been fighting it for quite a while and it's good to see you reached the goal.

                      It's just nuts and bolts when it comes right down to it. You just needed a little help on which way to turn the bolts and how tight to tighten your nuts.

                        Where did that come from?
                        I had that put on, Ive got removeable saddlebags, and the one on the exhaust side touches the muffler, so, that is why its there!!!
