  • oil in air box!!

I am still having issues with oil in the air box. On my first oil change I messed up and over filled the oil. So when i ran my bike it was blowing oil out the carb throat (i didnt have the air box hooked up, so i could chck it). Got that fixed and cranked bike. After a week or so with me cranking the bike it does not blow white smoke but I went to pull the air box to clean the filter and there was oil in it again Any suggestions?

I've never heard of oil coming out of the carb throat with the crankcase overfilled. For oil to be coming out of the carb throat AFAIK that would have to point to a serious mechanical problem with the engine. I would be concerned with where that oil is coming from. Have you done a compression test? Can you see which carb the oil is coming from?

when I overfilled the oil pan really bad by the way (I drained the middle gear oil instead) the carb were blowing oil into the air box. Im guessing it was pushing up into the cylanders and out the intake boots due to being so full. After reading some old forums I think my problem is either caused by my air filter leaking out oil after I cleaned my air box from the over flow or Because my gas was leaking out of the carbs (another issue I am working on, thanks for the other advice in the other forums by the way) and into the oil causing the oil to over flow. In any case I am about to go check and see. And will then probably change the oil. I am having some black oiley smell on my spark plugs but no white smoke. Your thoughs on that?

The cranks vent runs up to the top half of the airbox and comes outright in the bells of the carbs. So if you had the top half of the airbox on and just had the bottom removed that is really where the oil is coming from.
