  • Ignition problem

I was having trouble turning my bike off today. Turning the key would only turn my running lights off, the headlight and ignition remained on. So I took apart my ignition switch and the casing was cracked, it rained earlier today so that may have something to do with it, but it also didn't look to clean either. Just out of curiosity (I guess) I took all the wires going to the switch (red-hot, blue-running lights, and brown-headlight/ignition -- as far as I can tell) and stuck a wire nut on them. When I took it up and down the street I had much, much less power than usual, the idle was also pretty rough. I would assume that the coil isn't getting enough voltage or something but I don't see why not.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

My guess would be rain in the plug wires/caps and or pickup coil wires. Try it again after it dries out overnite.

Well it was running fine, before I took the ignition switch apart and bypassed it, so idk, I'll try it. I ordered a new ignition switch, hopefully that's the problem
