  • New to forum and owning bike

    Hello all,
I am new to this forum and to owning my own bike. I have been riding for about 7 yrs off and on. I learned on a friends honda 250, then went on to riding my buddies honda goldwing and my uncles harley wide glide. This is my first bike and I am very excited to learn more about it and get it up and running. I joined a yamaha forum but just have not recieved much info, I'm hoping to learn a lot more from you guys. I bought this 80 xs1100 special from a guy for $400. It had been sitting for a year because of a broken throttle cable and the guy had another bike. I have put another $100 for the cable, battery, cleaning fluids for the brakes, and carbs. The bike is running now but I have several questions I will be asking later. I thank you in advance for any info you can give me about the bike. Is it stock, how to shine the chrome, what kind of seat can I put on it, etc?

    Welcome

Hey . If its running , try a seafoam treatment . It might save you some carb work (maybe) .
