  • O-rings in the gasket kit

I just got a complete engine rebuild gasket kit for the XJ1100 and am finding a flock of black O-rings, the same size as the ones on the YICS where the head & cylinders meet. I'm wondering where the rest of these are assigned to? Didn't see anywhere on the head or cylinders (other than those four for the YICS) that needs them & I don't recall that size anywhere I've disassembled the bike. There were the 4 large orange ones for the base of the cylinders but these o-rings are black, oh, maybe 5/8" across. I have 8 left after the placing ones on the YICS

    Idears?

If they look like these: http://www.benefiscal.co.uk/partinfo...93210-11313-00, they're the o-rings for the valve guides...

I bet that's what it is though these look thicker in relationship to the circumference. I didn't try to remove the valve guides, I just replaced the valve oil seals on the top of the guides, the ones that look like a 32 cartridge with neoprene inside & a small spring holding the neoprene around the top. Those I replaced but I didn't see any O-rings while I was in there.

But I think you have it. Ah well, not going back into the head to replace them at this point.

      Thanks for the reply.

Only need to replace them if you replace the valve guides.
