  • First test ride

Well took daughter to daycare at 8am, ran back home and got fenders, tank, and seat bolted down and left for a test ride at 8:30 for work.

Overall, ran great. Little vibration from older tires so those will be next on the list. Might have to change handles depending on how they feel with a new seat. Right now it just feels like my elbows are way to inward. Have to get a little used to it since it's such a change from the 96 KLX650 as far as ride feel goes.

      Hi Jim,
the link works. Yeah, you gotta loose those rototiller 'bars.
IMHO their sole use is for part of a windchime.

Agreed. The set of EMGO classic bars I'm running are nice, and cheap, but I may prefer a little less rise. Still, a great set of bars for the money.

Now that we can see the image, I noticed that you're missing your right front caliper? I hope that's just temporary, you loose a fair amount of braking power by having just one caliper on there! Some folks like the buckhorn bars, but most don't not so much because of the elbows, but because of the awkward/uncomfortable wrist angles!

          Congrats on getting it running.

Yea, it was missing when I got it. Was going to get one off ebay soon, but right now it's back to not running so no brakes needed at this point. LOL
