gold on mns

does anyone know for sure what the gold color on midnight specials are I've been told gold plating on the metal parts but what about the plastics ie:air box need to redo and can get get a nice gold metalic powder coat done on metal parts but having trouble matching a gold paint

It's a kind of gold chrome. Definitely NOT real gold plating or powder coat. However, there have been a few guys who have used gold powder coat to "restore" the gold, but it never turns out exact. The air box gold is actually a metal piece on the outside, not plastic.
