    Need help -- See Pics

I have this windshield but am missing vital hardware. I would like to put it back to use. I have a friend that can make it look great but unless I have the hardware I don't want him wasting his time. If you help identify this shield, direct me to a pic of installed, tell me where/what hardware is needed that would be great. Thanks

I agree...this sure looks like a Plexistar. Anyone know where you can get hardware for one of these shields?

It's definitey not a true Plexistar, but similar.

Here's the page for instructions on ordering replacement parts for the National Cycle shields, but I don't know if that'll help since it's not an exact match.
        1980 XS850SG - Sold
        1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

It's probably 20-30 years old, could it be an "original" plexistar (assuming since they sell the plex 2 that there was a 1 that preceded it)?

The hardware's pretty similar on a lot of these 'vintage' 'shields, so try eBay. If you can come up with the bar clamps and the windshield clamps/grommets, most used standard 3/8" rod in between. Pick up some Stainless rod, cut/bend to fit....

Actually there is almost NEVER a 1, as the original normally has no number designation, case in point being the Windjammer, as there is no Windjammer I but just a Windjammer then you go to like a II etc.

                    Hardware

                    Hi Jeff,
Damn computer is not co-operating. Will not copy/paste the image I have. However I have found the Hardware from an old Spitfire windshield.
smaller than yours but uses the same idea of holes in the screen to attach to the mounting bracket.
Will post pics once i find someone with a computer.

                          Hi Jeff,
The upper part of the rods unscrew and fit through the hole in the windshield. The brackets fit 7/8" bars. See the bike picture has two stainless bolts which are missing from this set ( replacements available at Lowes)
                          PM me your address.
No Charge. I have been gifted so many things for my bike just glad to be able to repay the favour.
