You ARE fantastically able to buy the tools to finish your carbs. You can build a sync tool for under $10 as good or better than any brand name tool. You need a good bit of vinyl tubing (cents per foot), 1 foot of vacuum line, little plastic barbed connectors (to go from vac line to tubing), and 3 plastic barbed T's to bring all 4 tubes together. There are TONS of write-ups on this subject so check out the search button and the tech tips and if you still can't find the needed info, I will post a pic of my own. Oh, and forget the colortune, it's expensive garbage. If you really want to get the best idle mixtures, get a vacuum gauge on the vacuum port and tune for the highest possible vacuum at a set RPM. If you want perfection alternate and repeat between setting idle mixture and syncing the carbs (which is exactly what you would need to do if someone was there to loan you a Motion Pro sync and a Colortune).'81 XS1100 SH
