mjpxs, all i know is when i took mine apart, i found shims. maybe the P.O. had put them in there?! they seem to fit fine and correct on my 80 special.
either way, i looked at the microfiche of the shim for the 81 and am 95% sure it is what i have in front of me as i type this. if you would like me to trace it to use as template and fax, send me a private message with your fax #.
