Does anybody know if a seat from a 1980sg will fit on a xj without major modifications?

    Define 'major'....

Seat swaps is one of the sore points on these bikes, as in they generally don't... swap that is. The XJ is the worst of the lot, as it's totally unlike any XS seat in shape or how it attaches to the bike. But anything can be made to fit anything with enough work...

    The short answer is 'no'....
Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two
