During my last evening ride on my '78E, I noticed the indicator light: "Head Lamp" was glowing, from no light then to a faint dim glow, then off, then back to dim and so on. Head lamp seems strong and consistent and the high beam works. However it is quite old so could that be starting to fail thus making the indicator glow? Or could it be the RLU is starting to act up?

Check your connections; this could be in the hi/lo switch on the bars, at the controls plug under the tank or at the RLU. Mine acted strange, it was the plug under tank...Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

Mine has always had a dim glow to it, with it never really going fully out. My understanding is that it should have a faint glow to it, but only a faint glow but it should be steady whatever it does.Cy
