Got a great deal on two tires off a 80' Standard and I am in need of good rubber for my Special. The front wheel is straight swap but I know the rear may need different spacers, ect. I received nothing with my 17" rear in way of hardware, just the axle bolt. I saw Crazy Steve posted on another thread parts that are needed but I don't have any of those. Where can I get what I need or should I part with this rear and just buy new rubber for the 16". Thanks for your thoughts

You need a new inner spacer/dust seal, the 'standard' steel caliper bracket, and the 'standard' outer spacer.
Yamaha moved the brake rotor on the special wheel .3" further out (look at the difference in the length of the bearing hub between the wheels), so the Special inner spacer needs to be .3" longer. The caliper bracket is also shaped different. The Special doesn't use a outer spacer.

If Andreas has the other two parts, he should also have the inner spacer; just tell him you need a 'standard' caliper bracket and the two 'standard' spacers...Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two
