Just got back from doing 160 miles. First time its been driven in two weeks. It gave me no large problems, but in the last 40 miles or so it started running a bit rough. It would stumble on acceleration and when cruising would surge for a second here or there. If i babied it a bit it would stop and run smooth for a while. I guess it just didn't like being hot. Otherwise, all was good. Good firm brakes and smooth shifts. I did lose my left side cover though. Im pretty pissed off about that as I just finished stripping and painting everything. I even sandblasted and painted the emblems. Hopefully I can pick up another at the junkyard with the same emblem on it.
I have checked the pickup coil wires before, I really think it's just cause it got a bit hot. I have not changed the middle gear oil... I suppose i will do that too.
Brian is right Aaron, better to check them and be certain now than to have those wires go bad out on the road.
Move them around a bit while you have the VOM attatched and make sure the reading stays steady.
