  • Bolt on Fork Brace --- Yes or No ?

Somewhere on here I saw a nifty bolt on fork brace that I thought would look cool on my bike. Wanted to know who is selling it and also is this piece simply for looks or doe's it have a practical purpose in helping handling, ect?

    tkat fork brace

    http://www.tkat.com/forkbrace.html

The XS uses pretty flimsy 37mm forks and they flex a lot. The braces helps to curb the flexing of the forks and improves the handling.

Last time I checked they were running about $100. There is a contact link there at the bottom.

I know Tkat gets busy. It might take him a week or so to get back to you. Don't panic, he will reply.

Def. fit one. I bought a vintage Micron one on eBay for about $15. I'd shop around on eBay first before spending $100 on one though.
XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. XS750 final drive (sometimes). Micron fork brace. Progressive front springs. Geezer regulator/rectifier. Stainless 4 into 2 exhaust. Auto CCT (Venturer 1300) SOLD. New project now on the go. 1980 European model.

                      Here's one.......

                      http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KAWASAKI-GPz75...item3cb9a1640f

Ask for postage at 'small packet' rate for anything from the UK (that's not huge). It wouldn't cost more than $15....

Possibly this one too...... double check the diameters of the holes and distance apart.

Yes, do look out for one. The Micron brace is solid alloy and, as you can see from the photos, allows you to use the fork shrouds. It also fits on so easily.

Don;t rule out getting one from over here in the UK, if you can't find one over there. Just specify 'airmail small packet' rate.... it's surprisingly cheap. I send bits for XS1100's to the USA all the time, and also buy parts from over there.

Will one of those Micron ones fit on the special models?
