    All the XS1100's came with the tipover switch. If you don't have it on yours it was removed by a PO as it was standard equipment. It won't affect normal operation and riding, but if functional will shut down the engine if the bike falls over, this is a good thing since you at this point don't have oil in the pickup anymore so not only is personal damage possible, but engine damage as well if it keeps on going. That plus running engine with working vacuum taps, means gas running out of the carbs at the same time, another not good thing, shutting down the engine also ends gas flow if the petcocks are functional.
