  • 1981 xs1100h faring wiring

I searched and I could not find anything to help me out. My faring does not have a plug, it hardwires to the headlight area. I have some wires right but I still dont have everything hooked up, any help would be grateful.

Google up "Vetter fairings", and spend half an hour there, and you can find the wiring color codes for Vetter fairings. And the plugs.

Yep, that's actually a Vetter fairing made for Yamaha for the H model. It was also made as a dealer option the previous year, and looks pretty much the same but doesn't come with the fancy name or the larger tank.

PS, it's basically a Windjammer IV modified to take the square headlight and turn signals.

If it helps, there should be a pigtail that plugs into the fairing, then runs to the stock headlight area, plugging into the various systems. The end of the pigtail, if you were to unplug it from the bike and look at the surface of it, should be wired like this:

        __Purple_________Green__________Blue
        L Turn Sig._____Running Lts.____R Turn Sig.

        __White_________Yellow__________Black
        High Beam_____Low Beam________Ground

        _Orange_________Brown___________Red
