  • OEM vs Aftermarket Needle Jets

Just curious... I used full rebuild kits from Georgefix on the SG carbs and used the new brass needles instead of the OEM aluminum ones as a few were bent. But these don't have the same profile (and have a rather sloppy fit into the slide), so has there been any issues with these? Just trying to hopefully save time on tuning.

I could probably come up with a decent set of stock ones if I dig through my 'stuff'... should I start digging?

I rebuilt all four of my carbs using the Georgefix kits. I noticed the profile on the brass needles but put them in (on middle position). I've had absolutely no problems whatosever with them. Quite the reverse, in fact. Performance, starting, smoothness etc were instantly much better and still fine. It's almost a year ago that I fitted them (along with 4 new diaphragms).....

    I wouldn't bother digging.
