  • carb info?

    Hi, guys...

been gone awhile... but then, riding season ended (for me) in Maine a couple of months ago (I should move south), so... I've been concentrating on my 79 CJ-7 for the time being.

Anyway, I have a couple of sets of carbs that I plan on selling soon, and I was wondering how to tell which years of xs11 they came off of.

    Thanks for the help.

Pre '80 carbs will have metal floats and screw-in needle valves. From '80 and on the carbs will have plastic floats and push in needle valves held in by a screw and metal retaining clip. The earlier model carbs will have a vent right above the fuel fitting. The later model carbs will not have these. Also the idle mixture screws are different. The pre '80 carbs have big screws with springs that are visible while the later model carbs have smaller screws and can not be seen unless you look in their hole.
