Hey lbrown I see your in Mpls I'm in Big Lake, up between Elk River and St.Cloud do you know about our local japanese junk yard? I know that that there are more ccts out there on ventures, I was just out there last week and got two. I've seen a variety of seats in different levels of condition some are worth having.

That's the fellas. I think they might be a little cheaper and much more available at O'Reillys. That's where I got mine.

I run these... 20 bucks for the pair, and the elements are replaceable. clear glass so you can see well, and i think they look cool too!!!!!

For me, its a WHOLE lot easier to swap these than pull the tank, the petcocks, then clean the tower filters.....and......some folks dont have the towers anymore.....

Yeah, and they all vary. Just look at the group I hang out with.

            Hi Tom,
the phrase $20 for the pair appearing just below your avatar derailed my train of thought for a moment.
Back to business; some folks still have the towers but don't know they have fallen out of the petcocks to lie useless on the tank floor leaving the bike with no reserve and no filtration. Happened to me once. Oorah for the 2 gallon jerrycan of gas on my luggage rack.

Well against popular belief I sync'd my carbies this morning "without" the filters in. But my tank is about empty which is what I was shooting for. Now I will probably clean it and check the towers, and put in-line filters on the fuel lines. I might actually buy a new tank and clean them both so I can get one painted and shiney new, then sell the other one when I am done with it. That way I have a fresh start with a new clean tank and a nice paint job to go with all the polishing I did last night. Of course the ride in the rain this morning didn't help those shiney metal parts

The only problem with the towers being missing if you have inline filters is that you have no reserve function, and I kinda somewhat depend on that to let me know it's time to fill up (at least on city/town driving). Especially while my gauge wasn't working for the last year or so. I'm thinking of putting some inlines back in there again, even though this tank is pristine (it's why I bought it), it's still cheap insurance, and you guys have me convinced (I think your avatar has me hypnotized).
