  • Bearings and seals for MN special wheels

So I'm going to be putting Midnight Special wheels on my '79 SF. I need to replace the bearings and seals and can only find the bearings for the front wheel.
Any help finding seals for the front and rear as well as rear bearings?

Look up the parts for ANY XS11 wheel. They all use the same part numbers. Some of the "new" bearings have the seals built in, and the right rear bearing is getting VERY hard to find.

That is the left rear is hard to find, right rear is easy to find.

        Rear left bearing for XS1100

        Found a 20mm x 37mm x 25mm bearing for left rear XS1100. If the original is 20mm x 37mm x 23mm, will this slightly wider bearing work?

          NOPE.

The model you need is an NA5904 full needle bearing....no roller balls.

NO, it has to be NA 5904.

The NKIA is a combined needle and roller bearing design, not the same as the complete needle bearing only design!

NTN Makes them in North Georgia.

It's an "urban legend" that these are/were discontinued. They are made in a NTN factory in North Georgia USA.

Any distributor of NTN bearings can get them with ease. I've purchased 1/2 dozen of them brand new from BEARINGS & DRIVES (division of B&D Industrial). ANY place that distributes bearings can get them for you.

ALL the OEM wheel seals are available BRAND NEW in Yamaha Packaging from Partzilla.com. I'm sure all the other guys selling OEM Yamaha Parts have them too.

The seals on the bearings are NOT sufficient protection from dirt & debris. You need those actual seals from Yamaha too.

Thanks for the lowdown on the left rear bearing. The 11 special lives again with new comanderII tires, rear brake pads and bearings, it's like a brand new ride. This site is great!
