  • Will it leaf me by the road....

OK, bad pun. I plead no contest....

Doing my semiannual tuneup on Incubus today. I pulled the No. 4 plug to check it. It's a little breezy today. With the plug out, while I watched in horror - frozen in panic, mouth agape, a low moan turning into a soulful wail - a little dry leaf blew into the spark plug hole.

OK, guys, how many contortions do I put into getting it back out? Think it will blow out the exhaust port the next time I start the bike?

    Crap.

take all the plugs out,and turn her over a few times, might blow the leaf out.

It probably will help the energy of the combustion for one fire of the cylinder!

Leaf it alone and it will blow home, wagging its stem behind it!

I would not in the least worry about a little leaf getting into the cylinder through the plug hole. That's not going to block anything, and the fire will cause it to burn and while it might cause a backfire or two if anything, even that it unlikely as it will most likely go right out the exhaust valve on the first full cycle of that piston, if not, it will be ash within 2 or 3 cycles anyways and then it will be gone.

                you must be careful

whenever the spark holes are open... many leaves are sad to be separated and will seek out the valve stems looking for some semblance of their former life...

you were lucky this one didn't bring friends.

I had a feeling someone could limbo under me with a worse pun. I knew I could count on you guys.

Thanks for your responses. I took it for a ride this evening and felt no ill effects.

The shower of sparks out of the exhaust would be it leafing you.
