  • Torque for Venture CCT bolt

Anyone know the correct torque setting for the bolt (the big one with the crush washer) on the front of the Venture CCT.

    Thanks, David

Not necessary, that copper washer WILL seal. Just normal tightening load, nothing mysterious going on here.

Unfortunately my "normal tightening load" twisted 1/2"(including the bolt/crush washer) off the front of the cct housing.

I think I need to be more precise with the tightening load to avoid destroying another Venture cct.

The service manual shows 7.2ft-lb (12Nm, 1.2m-kg) for the two small bolts and 14ft-lb (20Nm, 2.0m-kg) for the big bolt.

            Holy bride of torquenstein, Batman!!!

Think 'spark plug tight' ...not 'cylinder head bolt tight'

And, um, lighten up on the Wheaties man
