    Rear wheel bearing

    Hi Folks. I've found a source of rear LHS wheel bearings. NA5904, caged roller bearing, complete with inner. They do not have a built in oil seal but I don't see this as being a problem.

    The price I can get them at depends on the quantity ordered but, if a hundred +, I should be able to get them for $28 each. I can send them small packet airmail to the USA for no more than $5 and probably less.

    I have taken pix of the bearing. If anyone has any comments or questions, I'd be very interested. If I can get enough advance 'orders', I would know whether it's worth placing an order.

    All of a sudden apparently we can get them now too. Don't know what happened. Maybe the patent expired or something so any bearing manufacturer can make them and distribute them instead of only under contract with Yamaha? I understand that was the issue previously that they could only be made under contract with Yamaha. Several have successfully ordered them but of course in single quantities they cost a bit more. But I'm not sure there is enough demand for 100+ orders, even though I know I want to order one, I'm not sure there are 99 others who also want to order one at the same time.

      Could be a patent expiring. That's good for everyone then! I got the bearing in the pix sent to me as a free trade sample, so I'm quite pleased!
