  • Doh! Lost the key to my 1100

Put the battery in my 79 saturday to awaken it from the winter sleep and I could not find the key! Luckily I have a spare parts 79 and scarfed the ign, gas cap, side cover lock and helmet lock of from it. Oh yea- on monday I found the key. I had put it on my daughters DT125 key ring. I have absolutely NO RECOLLECTION of putting the key on her bikes ring last fall!!! Anyway all is good now. Yes- I did have 2 spares cut today.

        Where're the tulips?

Man! I hope that's an old picture of your bike.

There are no leaves on the trees, let alone no tulips visible.

Pic is from about a month and a half ago. I can not believe I forgot where I put the key- but found it AFTER I drilled out the gas cap lock to get it open. Its nice having the spare arts bike. I did get some extra keys cut today. Placed them in an easy to remember location hanging on the wall by the entryway door.

            Hi Mike,
key location? One key in each of these places.
            Bike key fob.
Billfold.(if it's a plastic headed key file this one flat so it fits nice.)
Taped to inside of bike's right hand side cover.
            Sock drawer.

Looks like your daughter almost came out ahead.

P.S. Taping a key to the inside of your helmet (under the cheek padding, to avoid safety problems) may help. It's hard to lose your helmet at work, service stations, hotels, in garages, etc.
