  • How do you change plug wires?

Hi guys. I noticed that the plug wires come out of some kind of a black box. I hate to sound like a total novice, but I'm not sure what the black box is or how to mount new wires into it. Also can I use wires from the auto parts store and just cut them to size?

Hey, one other question. I've seen plug wires somewhere that have LED lights in them that flash every time the spark goes through. If I wanted a little bling, would these be OK to use?

The wires are integral with the coil, but can be changed following the procedure below. Many of us just buy hotter aftermarket coils where the wires are replacable.

I've seen those flashing plug ends at JC Whitney, don't see any harm using them if you want.

Thank you Phil. It looks fairly involved so I think I'll leave it alone for now.
