Step down adapter

I had a stock fairing and I'm switching to a Vetter. The stock connector on the bike is too big for the Vetter receptical.

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a "reducer connector" that I can buy or do I just have to cut and rewire? I'd really rather not have to do any rewiring...for two reasons. One I'm lousy at it and the other is that I don't want to destroy the electrical set up on either fairing.

Depends on the connectors, but I highly doubt you will find what you are looking for. It is possible that you could make a adaptor for it though.

The wiring is an adaptor specific to the fairing type - Vetter, Pacific or otherwise. You will need to replace the pigtail. It is connected in the headlight bucket, or the bundle, depending on how the bike is setup, with normal bullet connectors. It will plug directly into your wiring. The one on the bike is the same way.

craigvetter.com has a wiring diagram for the Vetter. It's all color coded. Just unplug one pigtail and plug the other in.

Unfortunately, some of the colours aren't the same, nor is the three prong connector even close.

I played around and finally got the signals to work properly. Then I went to help a buddy fell a tree and when I came back the same connections I'd written down to get the signals to work, didn't

Now I can't get the fairing signals to work at all And I haven't had one beer! (Maybe that's the problem Could a low battery cause this? Although the rear signals work fine.

Question: Does the headlight come on with the ignition key or the engine start?

Comes on after starting and if it dies will stay on untill key swicth is off.
