What you should do as the new owner of a vintage bike with no history is EVERY thing in the maintenance section of the manual you ordered. Some of it will seem tough or difficult, but with questions and the tech tips and searches on here, you will find what you need to do any and all of it.

No 2 may well have been lean if it had a vacuum leak. You probably fixed the vacuum leak and now it could be rich. I would look at the plug again now.

That is the manual I ordered on Ebay ealier today. Says service manual so I am hoping that's what it is
Just out of curiosity, is it the one with the black cover?

Was just looking for something else, and found a cheaper Clymer manual than the one I posted earlier. If you're interested, it is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1978-...sQ5fLiterature

          Manual

Yes it is the one with the Black Cover with the picture of the tire on the front. Will start tooling with it when I get the Manual...If it is the right one at least.

I hear a pop(backfire) when I shift from 1st to second and 2nd to third at low RPM's...any ideas?
