  • brain seize....what size are our forks?

    Having a serious case of CRS.....what size are 1100's forks? 35mm???
    '81H (my first XS ) "Grey Ghost"
    Stock Pilots/ 110 mains (to change)
    4:1 Jardine w/ headerwrap
    Windjammer(wiring issues)
    SonyMarine unit for Ipod/Polk Speakers
    New paint/brakes to come!!

    '80G to fix "BlackSunshine"
    Stock Pilots/125 mains
    Pod filters; 4:1 Kerker??
    SS Brake lines w/ new M/C's
    LED Brake Lite
    Needs paint....

    Hi Tom,
    you been staring at your atavar again, eh?
    XS11 fork tubes are 37mm
    The 35mm tubes are on '77 & newer XS650s.

      thats a what i thought.... just looking for emulators, and Mike's has em for the 35mm.......

        Tom,

        BIKERPHIL has Mike's XS emulators on an XS11 Special. He claims they work. I see no reason to doubt him. I put the RaceTech emulators on mine. As one might expect, they fit perfectly atop the damper rods.

        I suggest you contact Phil for the ins and outs of using the XS650 units. The XS650 is 100 lbs lighter than the XS11.

          Tom,

          BIKERPHIL has Mike's XS emulators on an XS11 Special. He claims they work. I see no reason to doubt him. I put the RaceTech emulators on mine. As one might expect, they fit perfectly atop the damper rods.

            Yep, the MikesXS emulators work fine in the Special forks. The Standard forks have a slightly different damper rod which might not accommodate the emulators as well. You can read about it in this thread if you like. Page 5 of the thread Marty posted shows the difference of the damper rods.
