    but over here they are likely not to be found anywhere...


    I still wonder why they'd design something different like that for over there only? Maybe they had to fit the bike in a box without removing the bars and the only way was to loosen and pull them in

      I think it is simpler than that John, I think it was more of a marketing option thing. I would suspect the bars allow the look and style that was popular in that area of the world at the time. Here in the US it was more of a Hardley look alike cruiser style.

      I like the ability to move the bars to a custom fit.
