when installing the vmax tensioner do i need to take out the bolt on the end to relieve the pressure then reinstall once mounted? thanks!

Yes. Make sure you follow the procedure in the book. I would even recommend removing the valve cover to make sure. Then when done double check the timing to make sure nothing slipped.Nathan

just wanted to let everyone know i installed the v-max cct on my xj yesterday,took my time. the thing fit like a glove. it does need shorter bolts about a quarter inch shorter. fired it up this evening every thing seems to be fine. will know more on a longer ride. great mod!! will post pics soon of my winter updates, windsheild, exhaust,coils, and so on. thanks to all of you for the tips could not have done it without you!
