  • pick coil wires

I took off the cover on my pick-up coil so i could check my valve clearances and this is what i found.

i checked them to make sure the connections were solid seems ok so i will leave it for now not sure what the green stuff is but it seems to be some kind of sealant still pliable and seems to seal the wire off so ok what do all of you think?

here are some pics of the plugs what do you think of them

    this is one and two:

    and three and four:

    all responses will be appreciated.

I'd say the green stuff is left over from a MIB movie.

As to the plugs. You are running pretty rich all the way across with 2 and 4 being the worse culprits.

looking at the pics again it seems that the pics don't show the dark tan colour of the electrods instead it shows up black. but 2 and 4 do have some carbon build up on them, i still need to get my valves adjusted and see what happens there as when my bike gets good and warm/hot the idle takes off which tells me it is running lean.

looks like that tire slime for running in cactus...

You sure you aint been running more than 40psi and it oozed outta the tires?

Do you have the stock filter and airbox or pods?

If stock maybe your air filter is dirty and making it run rich.

            Why put pods on?

going to put pods on for 2 reasons, that air box is a PIA to take on and off, and have to rejet for the 4-1 exhaust that is on the bike already so i thought might as well make the most of it and run pods anyway.

                Why not?

Its his bike *looks at pods sitting over there in the parts pile waiting.

Why is more the question...lol. I will probably have to help with the set up of these. I put pods on only one bike I own and will not do it again unless the damn airbox is missing. Then I would probably buy one on ebay. My stepson saw the ones Trdriver71 has and now he wants a set. Damn! Oh well each to his own likes and dislikes, but for me pods are a pain in the arse! Thanks Fred for the spelling.
