It has worked fine for me, melts nitrile gloves and burns your skin just like the other stuff. I have pretty much finished cleaning up 2 sets of carbs now. One set had been sitting for years with gas in it and it had a layer of old dried up gas residue coating everything. All I used was hot soapy water and wal mart carb cleaner.

The first three look like I would kind of expect at full enrichment for 20 seconds. Mine will start to bog down as it begins to foul the plug if I leave it on enrichment for to long.
On number four, If it was no spark but getting fuel it would be soaked in gasoline, wet with it. Looks dry in the picture.
I would do what your trying, open up carb number four, and open up carb number three. Look at both of them to see what shows up as being different if anything. Also, make sure you look at number four to see that the tip of the mixture screw is not broken off in the hole, plugging the port where the enrichment fuel would come from.
Its way to big of a difference to not be a good blockage somewhere, IMO anyway.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

I'll pull the carbs tonight after school. I can't imagine what could blocked. I'm more intimate with these carbs than my proctologist is with me. A member offered to swing by on Saturday and give me a hand. He's bringing a colortune, so hopefully there's light at the end of this tunnel.
Thanks for the help fellas, I'll keep you posted.

Hooray for Rob. He sacrificed his Saturday to give me a hand with the bike. We managed to get it started, synced and idle set up. Turns out, the ends of my spark plug wires were corroded, and my caps were all in sorry shape internally. With a trim of the wires and new caps we were able to get her dialed in at idle. I'll have to do some plug chops to see what the mix looks like at different throttle settings.
Now it's on to timing chain and valve clearance checking. ( I know i'm going to have to go back and retune if I need changes, but I wanted to at least get her close while Rob was here to help)
I pulled the plugs, rotated the engine clockwise to the "C" and then loosened the lock nut and stopper as instructed in the manual.
As far as I can tell..nothing happened.
Isn't there supposed to be something that moves when you release that stopper?
Does this mean either my chain was already in the perfect spot (not likely) or it's out as far as it will go (how bad would that be?)
I was going to pull the valve cover off to check clearances, what should I look at as far as the chain and tensioner?
Thanks folks, and double thanks to Rob.

Generally you won't be able to tell anything happened. If you hear a click or anything like that, you had way to much slack going on in the chain. Regular adjustments if it's not slipped back you should notice pretty much nothing, other than the fact that chain noise should stay at least a bit minimal, or at least go down a little after each adjustment. Mine never really gets very noisy, so it doesn't really make much difference, but I adjust it 3 times each oil change. (ok, I try to remember to anyways, I do at least once in the middle plus when I change the oil).Cy

Got the shims out with the tool. It worked alright once I figured it out.
So for shims I have 3 - 275s and 1- 280
I need 2 - 260s, 1- 255, and 1 - 265
I'll do a search and see if I can find a good place for replacements, or if anyone needs the ones I have and has spares, let me know.
I was able to reuse half the ones I had, so that's good.

There is a couple folks with "libraries". I found a local independant shop would sell me shims for $3 a piece.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
