    1980 midnight special

I sent in a post earlier about trying to find out what model I have. Someone gave me a link here on this site about serial numbers. I looked up and found what I thought was going to be my model an 80 xs1100 lg in new yamaha black with serial# 4h3-000101 but when I looked at my serial numbers and both frame and engine match, I have a number 4h3-000269 which I can't find anywhere. Does anyone have any Idea what model that would be

    thanks

you do have a 1980 xs1100lg midnight special with a very low serial number. What is the condition and mileage?

Yep, with the exception of the 78-79 Standards, each year and model is designated differently by the first three digits of the serial Number. So any XS11 that starts with 4H3 will be a 1980 model year Midnight Special.
